It’s a self balancing hovershoe that works exactly like a hoverboard, except it goes in pairs and you it’s used like a roller skates. You can say hoverboard and roller skates had a baby. Segway put in 18 years of research in every single bit of Drift W1 E-Skates. Innovations rule the world, right ? Segway-ninebot is one of the renowned manufacturer of electric Personal Transporters.
Left to me without having a test-ride, I’ll say,
Drift W1 is the next thing and most interesting way to hover. Samuel Onyike
Segway in a video explains how the shoes work. Basically, even if you’ve not driven a hoverboard before, hovershoes will be easy to pick up.
Drift W1 doesn’t have straps, but don’t worry about your foot slipping off. The Silicone made anti-skidding foot pedal of Drift W1 won’t let that happen. Drift W1 can run 7.7mph carrying 220lbs of weight. Sadly, it only lasts for 45 minutes on a single charge. RGB lights are on the tip of the shoes to add colorful lighting effect that you control among three modes.
A 10mm anti-collision silicone padding at both ends of the pair absorbs shock to minimize damage in case of hit. But you still need your safety gears.
It’s pretty easy to carry around and besides it’s not heavy at all. The inner skeleton is made of magnesium alloy, a lightweight tough material.
At the lowest price, Drift W1 costs $369 which is the same price range for a hoverboard.
